Naturalization Processing During an Election Year

Becoming a US citizen is often the end game of the immigration process. However, sometimes immigrants are not concerned with filing petitions for naturalization as soon as they are eligible. Over the past 30 years, the process has been much quicker during the election years. Our Presidential election will be held on November 5, 2024. If you would like to be eligible to vote in this election, time is running out to file for naturalization.

Recently, we had one happy client who was processed within 64 days from the time of receipt until they were sworn in as a US citizen. Since you need approximately one month prior to the election to register to vote, the time to file is now if you would like that opportunity.

Besides voting rights, US citizenship has many advantages. As an immigrant, you must pay filing fees to keep renewing your status. You also must notify USCIS any time you move. As a citizen, you can come and go as you please, spend more than 6 months abroad, and can apply for certain federal jobs and benefits. Finally, you may be able to sponsor your relatives from abroad.
