• How long does an H2B visa allow you to stay?
Initially, a worker with H2B visa can only stay up to one year; however, if the employer needs their service for an extended period of time and if proof can be provided, the worker can stay another year and the maximum is three years. But it is important to note that the extension is not automatic, and a bit difficult to get, and the employer should request for extension in one-year increments.

• Are there limits in the number of H2B visas approved per year?
Yes. From October 1 to March 31 or the first half of the fiscal year, there are only 33,000 slots allocated for this visa. Other half will be accommodated during the 2nd half of the fiscal year, which is from April 1 to September 30.
