Parent Relocation: Understanding
the Process

One of the most the most challenging areas following the divorce with kids is the need to relocate if you are the custodial parent. Before you decide to relocate and take your kids with you, you also have to consider the effects of this change to the kids and the possible conflict with their other parent.

To avoid adding insult to the injury, make sure you know well the child custody or the separation agreement made with your ex-partner. There may be some limitations or restrictions that could hinder you from moving. If none is stated in the agreement, however, this doesn’t mean you can take the child anywhere you go. Still, it is a must that there is consent from the other parent. Otherwise, this would compromise your child’s custody.

If you are unsure which route to take, seek legal advice from experienced parent relocation lawyers.
