H2B visas are approved for a period of up to one year, and extensions of such visas may be granted for a total of two additional years. But, after the second extension is made, the foreign worker must remain outside of the United States for at least three months prior to the application of readmission forH-2B non-immigrant.
For as long as there are some instances where the foreign employees have time spent outside of the United States that interrupted the authorized stay of the H-2B worker and does not belong within the 3 year limit. An extension may also be used for the validity of the labor certification.
